Calabrian Natural Chestnut Honey originates in Amaroni, known as the Honey City of Calabria, which boasts the production of the best honeys and is situated in an unspoilt location, amidst valleys and flower-filled meadows.
This honey is obtained from chestnut flowers and, unlike many other honeys, has a very dark and intense amber colour.
Its complex flavour, with a bitterish aftertaste, can be appreciated both on mature cheeses and on meat dishes, enhancing them at their best; it is exceptional on pork, beef carpaccio, ricotta or low-flavoured cheeses.
It is also delicious at breakfast, spread on bread or rusks, and to sweeten tea and herbal teas.
