Winery founded in Alba in 1961. Today Valfieri represents a pop interpretation of the great Piemontese grape varieties.
In 1961, Rosangela Clerici Riccadonna (belonging to one of Piedmont's oldest wine-producing families) founded the VALFIERI winery in Alba.
Later, Valfieri's headquarters were moved to Costigliole d'Asti, in the heart of one of the region's most prized wine-growing areas, and her children Angelo and Maria Chiara took over management.
In 2020, Valfieri became part of the Mura Mura family through the acquisition of the brand by Federico Grom and Guido Martinetti. This operation also led to the acquisition of the licence to vinify the Barbaresco and Barolo crus in Costigliole.
Valfieri aims to be a more pop interpretation of Piedmontese wines for Mura Mura. Keeping fixed the cornerstones of the quest for excellence and absolute quality, inherent in Mura Mura's DNA, certain processes leading to the production of Valfieri-branded wines have been simplified.
Thus, in 2022, the first two wines were born:
L'Antidoto, rosé wine.
La finestrina, Barbera d'Asti DOCG
Both are inspired by the Comedies of Vittorio Alfieri, a famous 18th century Asti character.
